TST Engineering’s structural investigative services utilise the latest technology to precisely map a wide variety of concealed objects in buildings, houses and other structures. Spot checks on floors, ceilings, walls, pillars, beams and foundations are carried out using high frequency antennas while proving precision and accuracy. Steel reinforcing, conduits, slab thickness and imperfections can also be detected and mapped with the use of high resolution radar surveys.
A non-destructive testing technique is employed to assure our client that no damage with be inflicted upon the structure in question. The high frequency radar adopted for these surveys emit a signal able to penetrate a variety of materials including, but not limited to, concrete, stone, tarmac and wood. There are numerous applications for which non-destructive structural imaging has been found to be invaluable, including:
-
Re-bar location and mapping
-
Measurement of slab thickness
-
Location of structural beams
-
Location of hidden, architectural features (e.g. chimneys)
-
Void mapping,Damage assessment on retaining walls
-
Tunnel wall mapping
Our team of highly trained technicians collect the required data and transfer the figures into 3D maps. In conjunction with a 3D map, we provide our clients a detailed technical report to clarify all findings. As a result, TST is able to provide an accurate, non-invasive solution to our clients’ survey requirements.
